Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) Lab
CAD/CAM Laboratory (bldg 192-104)

A contribution from Solectron Corporation has helped turn an antiquated space into a new design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) lab.

This lab moves the student beyond lecture presentations and text discussions of industrial practice and allows them to understand the industry process and become completely involved. The students themselves do the proposal writing, CAD schematic capture, CAM circuit board layout, CNC drilling, phototool creation, board etching and assembly, chassis creation, finishing, labeling, documentation, and Final Design Review report and presentation of a real pre-production prototype electronic product.
