Manufacturing Engineer Job Description

This position is for Palmdale facilities supporting all Lines of Business (LOB). Duties will include supporting the creation and implementation of manufacturing videos that augment manufacturing planning work instructions.

Tasks will involve coordinating with various groups such as production, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials and Process Engineering, and multi-media services to develop the manufacturing video tutorials.

Must be a US Citizen; this position may require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an Engineering discipline (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Aeronautical, etc.) or other Technical or related field.

Experience reading engineering blueprints, requirements and designs.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

 

Desired Skills:

Basic knowledge of composite manufacturing.

Experience with manufacturing and assembly processes.

Familiarization in video editing and script writing for video shoots.

 

Industrial Engineer Job Description

Incumbent will be responsible for conducting standard Industrial Engineering activities. Assist with the development of production estimates, track cost and schedule performance at the part level and establish manufacturing health metrics for multiple areas. Additional tasks include, but are not limited to, efficiency calculations, capacity assessments, trend analysis and other process improvement activities. The incumbent will be expected to drive continuous improvements projects, document processes, and capture cost savings, and present analysis and recommendations to senior management.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited college

 

Desired Skills:

Familiar with traditional Industrial Engineering skills, such as:

- Statistical Analysis

- Data Mining

- Human Factors (Ergonomics)

- Forecasting (Capacity Analysis, Staffing Plans)

- Data Extrapolation

- Strong MS Excel knowledge and capabilities

- Working knowledge for visual basic (Excel VBA)

- Experience/Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts

- Exposure or experience in a manufacturing environment

- Proficient with SAP software suite
