Lizabeth T. Schlemer has been teaching at Cal Poly, SLO for 19 years. She teaches a wide range of subjects from Engineering Economy to Facilities Planning and Design. She has developed good relationships with local industry and provides her students with opportunities to participate in real projects for real clients.
She is participating in a learning initiative at Cal Poly called SUSTAIN-SLO. this initiative take 100 freshman from across the university and has them taking linked GE courses for two quarters and has them working on project in the community. Educational research on the is funded by the National Science Foundation (EEC 1025265 and DUE 1044430).
Her area of research is engineering education, specifically project based learning and the use of Online Educational Resources (OER) to enable self-directed learning.
